PI and Project Coordinator of MEDIATIZED EU, Dr. Tetyana Lokot, authored an essay for the Irish version of the Digital News Report 2022, about media coverage and journalistic challenges of Russia’s war in Ukraine and news consumption patterns during the conflict. Titled “Coverage of Russia’s War in Ukraine Reinforces Existing Challenges for Media Freedom and Impactful Journalism”, the essay builds on DNR data about media consumption, trust and news avoidance in several EU and other countries collected since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, as well as on Ukrainian data about local media habits, internet use and news consumption.
