Our podcast episode #5 brings an interview with five researchers of the Corvinus University of Budapest (CUB), Dr. György Lengyel, Sociologist, Professor Emeritus and head of the Centre for Empirical Social Research (CESR); Dr. Gabriella Ilonszki, Political Scientist and Professor Emerita; Dr. Lilla Tóth, Senior Research Fellow; Dr. Borbála Göncz, Research fellow at the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies; and Dr. Attila Melegh, Associate Professor at and Senior Researcher at the Demographic Research Institute. They were interviewed by Dr. Samuel Doveri Vesterbye, Director of the European Neighborhood Council (ENC).

The team guides us through their research progress by covering the latest analysis of Hungary’s attitudes vis-à-vis the European Union (EU). In particular, they address the findings of the team’s desk research, media analysis and elite interview analysis, focusing on the country’s perceptions of Europeanization.

The media analysis and interviews are crucial elements in MEDIATIZED EU’s mixed-methods research approach, which are to be complemented, next, with surveys of the public opinion.

Watch or listen to the interview for more details on the different research phases and on the Hungarian team’s findings thus far.
