Our podcast episode #6 brings an interview with Dr. Sofia José Santos, Assistant Professor of International Relations in the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and a Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES). Dr. Santos was interviewed by Dr. Samuel Doveri Vesterbye, Director of the European Neighborhood Council (ENC). She guides us through her team’s research progress, addressing the latest analysis of how the Portuguese media covers and represents issues related to the European Union (EU).
The CES team has completed media analysis of Portuguese discourses about the EU, and has embarked on research about elite perceptions and framing of the European project. These aspects are investigated through interviews with political and media actors in Portugal. The media analysis and interviews are crucial elements in MEDIATIZED EU’s mixed-methods research approach.
