The team of the Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, published a special issue of the Journal on Sociology and Social Policy containing results of their country study within MEDIATIZED EU. The issue, entitled “The Challenge of the EU”, was edited by Dr. György Lengyel and Dr. Gabriella Ilonszkiwas, and published in English and Hungarian, in open access, in December 2024. “A research team from Corvinus University studied the image of European integration in Hungarian media and among the elite between 2021 and 2024. This volume presents selected results from this research. The introduction first outlines the social and institutional background and then analyses the phenomena of politicization, instrumentalization, and polarization, with a special focus on asymmetric polarization. It describes the methods used and the logic of the volume and concludes with questions about the social implications of polarization.”
